Description
The founder of modern Romanian archaeology, Alexandru Odobescu (1834-1895), a professor at the University of Bucharest and a member of the Romanian Academy, published this monumental work on the Pietroasa treasure after a meticulous investigation of the respective pieces and their archaeological and historical context. The work brought him international recognition after it was printed in French.
