The Delta, also called Solomon's Triangle or the equilateral triangle, was named after the shape of the fourth capital letter of the Greek alphabet. A geometric representation of the number three (the principle of triplicity is extremely important in builders' symbolism), in the Pythagorean tradition it signifies the asceticism of the multiple towards the One, in the Christian one - Trinity, and in many other philosophies - divinity as Perfection. In the Temple, the bright Delta is located in the east, and has in the centre the letter G, which is given multiple interpretations (God, Gnosis, Geometry, Genesis), the Hebrew tetragram, the Pythagorean scheme, the divine eye - a symbol of the creative principle, or the sun - the luminous principle of life.
