Vasilka Pavlova Genadieva is one of the bright representatives of women artists who marked the history of Bulgarian art in the 20th century. Born in 1905 in the city of Sofia, she is a descendant of the old Kesyakovi family from Koprivshten on her mother's side, and her father is the Bulgarian revolutionary and public figure Pavel Genadiev. Genadieva graduated in painting at the Art Academy, in the class of professors Nikola Marinov and Boris Mitov in 1930. She actively participated in the exhibitions of the Society of Women Artists, and in 1931 became part of the Society of Independent Artists. The creativity of Vasilka Genadieva is mainly related to the genres of still life and portrait. In still life, her compositions are usually - vases with flowers and tables. Characteristics of the artist's handwriting are the gentle coloring, the feminine delicacy and the precision of the brush. The painting "Daisies and Violets", dated 1933, is part of the artist's early work and is a vivid example of her most characteristic creative subjects.
