At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty (the beginning of the 1640's), both the general social and the Imperial court instability caused an anti-contraband law, regarding goods for imperial use and the utilisation of imperial marks on porcelain vessels. During this period, a number of various marks started to be used, among which the ”Artemisia” leaf mark, used to mark imperial porcelain.
