The sword was crafted by Master Sukesada, in the village of Osafune of the Bizen Province, during the Genki II Era (1571), at the end of the Muromachi Period. The blade is superior quality, certified also by the fact that the signature is in big font; it is dated and has a Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of Japanese Swords) certificate.
