With an initiatory journey that starts in the bosom of the family of artists Simona Vasiliu Chintilă and Spiru Chintilă, Andrei Chintilă will demonstrate an unstoppable talent and an unceasing thirst for knowledge from childhood. At that tender age, the budding artist will be interested in Greek mythology, a theme he will often take up in his artistic experiments, but he will also be interested in comics or the Wild West. As an adult, he will come to master several mediums of expression, among which we mention painting, graphics or photography. With the discovery and deepening of the technological medium, he will undertake several studies, starting from his attempts to capture the moment through the lens. Here we mention his already famous "photos with inserts", on which he intervenes with different materials (both graphic and chromatic) to enhance or reveal certain details. The previously mentioned medium is understood by Andrei Chintilă as a collection of optical sensations. The artist will hone the lens of his device also on his painting research, so that we will repeatedly find the initial photo, the studies made on its basis (in ink or pencil) and then the pictorial transposition of the photographic moment. However, the artist will not ignore his imaginary universe, but will just explore with an apparent interest all the means at his disposal. He often explores the everyday and themes that apparently seem devoid of substance, but he comes to discover himself. The 90s bring him closer to the temptations of the West, and in 1990 he even settles in Brussels. He will become acquainted with the frenzy of the city, will roam through famous museums and will discover the cultural life and the trends in vogue at that time. He even manages to organize a personal exhibition, in 1992, at the gallery "La Source" and gradually penetrates the world of foreign collectors.
