Research information

The work participated in the exhibition "Modern and Contemporary Painters in Romanian Art," Adjud, June 2003.

Following the musicality of the studied color alongside master Alexandru Ciucurencu, Constantin Piliuță claims a unique, specific, and independent place in the plastic arts, separate from his teacher. The warmth of colors does not confront fleetingness with reticence; on the contrary, skies, flowers, and people live in atemporality. Despite the fading nature, Piliuță’s works continue to be traversed by the thrill of life through the organic spontaneity with which they are created. To allow the pictorial surface to breathe, Constantin Piliuță almost completely eliminates dark tones in favor of luminous pigments. For the artist, the painting primarily represents a field of light onto which he projects scenes from everyday life. Thus, his pictorial universe is characterized by a continuous remembrance of life through singers, dancers, horses, or flowers.
