Andrey Daniel is a leading figure in the contemporary Bulgarian art scene. In his work, he leaves behind a trail of vivid forms and compositions, imbued with the human soul. His inner world is exceptionally rich and filled with deep imagination and fairy-tale-like qualities. His landscapes are like small universes of colors and shapes that evoke the feeling of a specific place as a personal and intimate moment. The composition "Night Calm," created in 1997, is primarily associated with the quiet depiction of the sea and the life around it. The artwork was created in the same year that Andrey Daniel became a professor at the Department of Painting at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. (K.S.)
