On the ochre-red background of the icon, up to below the waist, Jesus Christ is depicted as the Pantocrator, dressed in a red chiton, with golden embroidery at the neck slit, over which a blue himation is draped, bordered on the edges with a decor painted with white. With his right hand, he blesses and with the left one he holds the closed Gospel, having golden barks. He carries a silver halo around his head. The oval of his face is surrounded by a dark-colored beard and hair, long locks falling in front and behind. His facial features are characteristic of the Brâncovenesc painting typology, the model is also present, however, in this case, the ochre shades are lighter, and as a particularity of the painter, the shadows on his forehead, eyelids and cheeks are made with a more intense red shade. These stylistic peculiarities characterize the painting of Ivan from Rășinari, originally from Wallachia, from the Vâlcea area, trained as a painter in the style of Brâncovenesc painting and who worked on order starting from the first decades of the XVIIIth century in the southern area of Transylvania. The icon is framed by a double profiled frame, painted silvery on the inside and red on the outside. The inscription on the icon is painted in white, with beautifully calligraphed Cyrillic letters, which proves the high preparation of the painter, who maintained close ties with Wallachia, his place of origin and training as a painter.
