Eugen Tăutu's passion for philosophy would be transposed in the form of a PhD thesis dedicated to Hegel's work. The mystery of the artist's inner cosmogony would be externalised through an Oriental style. The architectural vocation and the inclination towards constructivism turn Tăutu into a visionary of the images, who refuses to paint the concrete and immediate reality. The artist draws the attention to a spiritual reality, where the sign is used as an abstract symbol, and pays a particular attention to matching shapes. He works in labyrinth cycles, and takes over Byzantine, ancient Greek or even national Romanian values. His work, monumental through their broad nature, are full of the Cartesian geometry of the dream and the fantastic. The math behind the artist's thought can be interpreted through the chromatic equations assigned to the values of creation. Eugen Tăutu assigns some of his lyrical inclinations to his plastic work, and intertwines art with philosophy, biology or physics. He creates true metaphorical fairytales through the used chromatic, emphasizing the colour's vital energy. Therefore, his works become true labyrinth embeddings of the subconscious.
