The work was published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry, Trade and Domains as a historical, economic, social, and cultural synthesis of Romania during the reign of King Carol I. It was intended for publication for the Jubilee Exhibition of 1906 but was released in the following year. On the main cover is the kingdom's coat of arms.
