The obverse of the medal includes the bust of the Reich Chancellor, oriented to the left and surrounded by the phrase in exergue "Reichskanzler Adolf Hitler • 30. Jan. 1933 • ", while the reverse contains the intertwined and tied together flags, a symbol of the indivisibility of the eventual subsequent union of Austria and Germany, located centrally, alongside the inscription "Aufbruch der Nation" or "dawn of a nation" and the millesimal "21 März 1933", the date the new parliament was formed following the Reichstag fire, during which an important speech by Hitler took place.
