Showing evidence of precocious talent, Maradona was nicknamed "El Pibe de Oro" (The Golden Boy), a moniker that stayed with him until the end of his life. Alongside Pelé, he is the winner of the unique FIFA Player of the XX Century award. Playing usually under number 10, Maradona was known for scoring goals from free kicks. He set the first world record for a transfer fee of 5 million dollars when he moved to FC Barcelona in 1982. He was later transferred to Napoli for 6.9 million dollars. He captained the Argentina national team in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico where Argentina won against West Germany, and he won the Golden Ball for the best player of the tournament. In this tournament, he further made history by scoring two goals in the quarterfinals: the first, dubbed "The Hand of God", when he was unpunished for handling the ball, and the second, considered the Goal of the XX Century, when he dribbled past five opponents across 60 meters.
