Also known as "The Maradona of the Carpathians", Gheorghe Hagi is considered one of the best Romanian footballers of all time. On his dedicated page on the official website of FC Barcelona, the athlete enjoys a brief biography, having played for the prestigious club for two years, between 1994 and 1996, and scoring 11 goals during his time at FC Barcelona. Recognized as an advanced playmaker, he was known for his dribbling, technique, vision, passing, and finishing. As part of Romania's national team, he played in three World Cups in 1990, 1994 (where he was named in the World Cup All-Star Team) and 1998, and in three European Championships in 1984, 1996 and 2000.
