acrylic on canvas, 60 x 50 cm, signed, dated and titled on the verso, in black, "SADDO, 2011, The Banishment"

Fascinated by Rousseau, Matisse, Iranian miniatures, Asian carpets, hip hop and urban culture, Raul Oprea, better known as "Saddo", has created a distinctive artistic presence in the contemporary art world. The artist approaches everything from easel painting, to mural painting or illustration for various projects. His mural paintings can be found in cities such as Bangkok, Las Vegas, Cluj or Bucharest; however, Saddo's art has also been present in numerous cities around the world in the form of successful exhibitions. His surrealistic universe encompasses a multitude of elements, a blend of organic and inorganic, where the viewer can find the sky, water, earth, flowers, shells, birds or butterflies. The color ranges are often the most vibrant, so the predominant colors are undoubtedly blue, pink or white.
