He studied in Cluj and then in Bucharest, under the guidance of Prof. Ion Marșic. He initially makes his debut under the pseudonym Gheorghe Sandu, in a painting, sculpture and graphics exhibition. He is awarded the Cecilia and Frederik Stork scholarship. For three years, he works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts. He exhibits a lot and his work is awarded numerous prizes. Viorel Mărginean is a poet who creates images. The recurring motif for his paintings is winter. An architect of feelings, Viorel Mărginean gives birth to more than just compositions. His works are windows overlooking his native land. He recalls the Transylvanian winters and translates them onto canvases. The picturesque intertwines with the religious in an affective cohesion. His paintings abound with calmness and inner peace. The artist emotionally communicates with his work and conveys to the receiver the idea that the landscape is a state of the soul, infinite and perpetual.
