The infinite contact with art is produced in the early childhood, precisely in the kindergarten period, when Roman Tolici, in a veritable burst of inspiration, adds ingenious artifice to an apparently banal theme. Sketching the contours of a house, young Tolici decides to put together on his canvas, the details of icicles, as he observes in his immediate reality. In this reminiscence of the artist, we decipher, for the first time, his future preoccupations with the photographic rendering of everyday elements. Roman Tolici has established himself over the years as an outstanding exponent of photographic realism, a technique that masterfully captures poetry and the surrealism of everyday existence. He finds inspiration in simple things and does not leave the house without his camera. This way, his work process includes, photographic documentations, which will be modified later on in reportage works or in real reflective frescoes of the real space. In this work, the artist marks the passing of time by advancing the train on the track and making use of the alternative road sign lights. Tolici transposes endless pictorial stories and proposes a type of cinematic narrative, in which large, unusual gestures have no place.
