ARLUS (Romanian Association for Strengthening Relations with the Soviet Union) was an association that operated between 1944 and 1964, controlled, especially in the first decade of its activity, by a group of communists in Romania devoted to the USSR, a group that came into conflict with the group of nationalist communists led by Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej. The association had many contributing members, organized conferences, discussions, exhibitions on pro-Soviet propaganda themes, included the "Russian Book" publishing house.
