The volume belonged to Alexandru Iacovachi (Iacovaky, 1876-1955), a career diplomat, minister plenipotentiary in Poland, until the establishment of the communist regime and author of memoirs. The work was printed in Paris as propaganda material in favour of Romania, an ally of France and the other powers of the Entente during the First World War.
