The icon depicts Virgin Mary with baby Jesus in her arms. Mary's head is bent to the right, her cheek pressed against Jesus'. Jesus has one hand on Mary's chest, and the other around her neck. Simple clothes, but embellished with embroidery at the neck (Mary's garment reminds of the Romanian traditional blouses wrinkled at the neck). The aureoles have a succession of coloured arches, the round, expressive faces have pink and beige complexions. On either side of Mary's halo - two medallions with inscriptions. The whole scene is framed in a wide vegetal frame. (A.D.)
