The icon represents the scene in which Jesus is brought into the temple. In the foreground, Simeon with baby Jesus in his arms. In front of them, the Virgin Mary reaches out her hands towards them, followed by the prophetess Anna and the righteous Joseph. In the background, two buildings symbolize the church.
