A student of the Julian Academy in Paris, where he would study with Jean Paul Laurens, the artist Costin Petrescu stood out as a fresco painter, and as an easel painter, approaching a repertoire consisting of historical or biblical composition themes, interior scenes, landscapes, sea views or portraits. He would become known through his academic, conscientious painting, along with remarkable qualities of a drawer, as a constant presence in the artistic manifestations within the Official Salon, Artistic Youth, etc. (GM)
