Starting from the interior paintings completed throughout 1927 in the Bran Castle, we can truly appreciate the importance of this topic in the creations of an artist who is even familiar with the large-sized compositions. No matter the context, Grant's main quality remained the chromatic significance, which he managed to offer to the approached subject. "We cannot deny Mr. Grant's special traits, but perhaps his purpose lied in oil painting. He has a good taste for precious things, for rich and distinguished harmonies, to which we add a rare mastery in rendering each matter's qualities. He is never tired, and yet, the thorough persistence on details... Everything is so precise and in such a tight closeness, that there is no room for the movements of the soul." (P.I.Georgescu-Rachitiveanu, 1927). As far as the interior painting is concerned, Grant makes recourse to the same realistic manner of interpreting the visual, based especially on the importance of colouring, be it in water or oil colours. But the biggest delight is the lively paintbrush movement, which brings to life even the dullest corners of wealthy houses, breathing an aura of life into them.
