Constantin Doncea a fost membru supleant al Comitetului Central al Partidului Muncitoresc Român (1948-1958), a deținut funcții de adjunct (ajutor de primar general al Capitalei din noiembrie 1947 până în februarie 1948, ministru adjunct la Construcții între 1948 și 1950), iar între 1956 și 1957 a fost ministrul Colectărilor în guvernul condus de Chivu Stoica.
