Identification elements of an iconographic and stylistic order: The icon is a festive one and it was part of a frieze of festive icons of an iconostasis, out of which seven have been preserved in the collection. The anonymous painter depicts the scene of the Annunciation, reducing it to its essential compositional elements, treating it symmetrically, just like the other icons from the same series. Against the blue background of the icon, in front of conventional architectures, painted by the artist in a personal style, unfolds the well-known scene of the Annunciation. On the left side, standing, is depicted Archangel Gabriel, and on the right side of the scene, in the same attitude, is depicted the Virgin Mary, making a gesture of acceptance of the news. Between them, in the axis of symmetry, is the Dove of the Holy Spirit, descending from the sky, and the pulpit in front of the Virgin Mary. The chromatics of the icon is similar to that of the previous icons from the same series. Identification elements of a technical order: The support of the icon is made up of a wooden board, strengthened at the back with a median crossbar. Conclusions: The painting of the icon fits stylistically into the evolution of post-Brancovenesc painting from the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, marking the appearance of the first elements of ruralization. The chromatics of the icon is similar to that of the icons from the same series. (A.D.).
