Iconographic and stylistic identification elements: The cross with Crucified Jesus has at its ends, the image of God the Father at the top, Adam's Skull at the bottom, the Virgin Mary on the left and Saint Apostle John on the right. It divides the surface of the icon into four fields, two above and two below. Above is painted the Virgin Mary with the Infant, Kazanskaia, and Saint Nicholas, while below is Archangel Michael on horseback and Saint George on horseback, killing the dragon. The icon is surrounded by a wide frame, painted in red-ochre. The composition of the scenes, typology of the faces and chromatic are characteristic of Russian (Lipovan) painting in the nineteenth century. Technical identification elements: The support of the painting is made of a single wooden panel, strengthened at the back with two buried crossbars. Conclusions: The painting of the icon falls within the artistic and technical coordinates of Russian painting of the nineteenth century, but the execution is more graphic, more simplified and made with more modest means (A.D.).
