Identification elements of iconographic and stylistic order: The icon is a feast day icon and was part of a feast frieze of an iconostasis, of which seven have been preserved in the collection. The anonymous painter portrays the scene of the Lord's Presentation by reducing it to essential elements. Against the blue background of the icon, conventional architectures stands out, treated by the painter in a particular way. The composition is symmetrical: at the center of the composition is the altar table, to the right the Virgin Mary, followed by Saint Joseph, bringing the Infant Jesus to the Temple, represented on the left, in the arms of Saint Simeon. The color palette is dominated by red and ochre in various shades, along with blue and green. Identification elements of technical order: The wooden support of the icon is made of a single wood panel, reinforced with a median crosspiece. Conclusions: The painting of the icon falls within the style evolution of the post-Brancovan painting from the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, practiced at that time in local workshops, highlighting the presence of rusticizing elements in painting (AD).
