Identifying elements of an iconographic and stylistic nature: The icon depicts the Holy Martyrs George and Dimitrie, standing on the background of the icon, painted in blue at the top and ochre, suggesting some slabs, at the bottom. They are clothed each with a long tunic, over which they wear a shorter tunic. Over their shoulders, they wear a long cape, fastened at the chest, with gold embroidery. In their left hand they each hold a spear, alluding to their soldier status, and in their right hand they hold a martyr's cross. The graphic modeling of the faces is suitable for the style of the icon. They wear golden halos around their heads. The predominant colors are red, blue, green, and ochre. The cross-like frame is painted red and gold. Identifying elements of a technical nature: The wooden support of the painting is composed of a reinforced board at the back with two semi-buried crossbars. The frame of the icon is shaped like a cross. Conclusions: The painting of the icon stylistically belongs to post-brancovenean painting. In numerous local painting workshops, painters copied brancovenean models with more modest means and with a natural adaptation to the taste and mentality of the patrons (A.D.).
