Research information

The artwork participated in the exhibition "Valori artistice reprezentative din colecÈii bucureÈtene" ("Representative artistic values from Bucharest collections"), National Museum of Contemporary Art, Bucharest, 2002. A version of the artwork is reproduced in the monography "Cornel Medrea", Marin Mihalache, Meridiane Publishing House, Bucharest, 1972, under the title "Copilul cu broasca" ("Child with turtle").

In the last decade of his life, Corneliu Medrea created numerous works dedicated to Dobrogea’s shoreline. From the works created during this period we mention: the group of status "Pescarii" ("The Fishermen"), as well as the works "Nufărul" ("The Water Lily"), "Spre soare" ("Towards the Sun") or "Fetiță cu țestoasă" ("Girl with a turtle" - a project for a fountain, a late replica for the work "Copilul cu broasca" ("Child with turtle").
