Michel USA Catalogue no. 35, perforated, cancelled. The famous "Lincoln" 90 cent stamp, 1869, was the first and only bi-colour one issued in USA until 1918. Based on a photograph taken by Matthew Brady, the portrait of the American president Abraham Lincoln is the only bi-colour portrait stamp until 1938, when the presidential stamp series is issued, including Woodrow Wilson. The "Lincoln" 90 cent stamp is an important philatelic piece, very popular among collectors, as it is rare, with an issue of 47,460. The stamp comes with a certificate of authenticity and a 22k gold anniversary stamp.
