A sculptor who studied in the interwar period, between 1930 and 1934, at the Bucharest Academy of Fine Arts, Mereanu made his debut in the fourth decade of the 20th century, at the Artistic Youth society. In 1935 he received the Paciurea stipend, and his activity revolved around the Luchian-Paciurea Group until the war. Starting with the 50s, he also made public art, creating monumental projects that we can now find in Carol or Ioanid parks.
