44. Lazarea [1980]

From 1966 he participated in drawing and engraving salons, graphic exhibitions, manifestations of Romanian art organized in 1968 in Krakow, Helsinki and Prague, and in 1970 in Düsseldorf, Turin and Rome. In his style, sculpture and engraving prevail, some examples in this regard are: "Studies on Women" - woodcut, 1969, the cycle "Tribute to Peter Greenway", "The Myth of the Joy of Living" - woodcut, 1969, metal engraving, "Apocalypse after John - tribute to Albrecht Dürer", woodcut; "The Journey" or "Saint George and the Dragon", but also graphics such as ,,Randomness and Evidence Game (1977)", ,,Budding flower (1992)" or ”Thoughtful (2008)". Regarding the current work, one can observe the capture of the interior of the fortified Lazăr castle courtyard in Lăzarea, Harghita. The castle is captured from the front, in light shades of yellow and orange that harmoniously frame the entire composition. In the work, the attention is directed towards an as accurate as possible representation and outlining of this castle, the artist wanting to capture its details as well as possible, in order to transpose the viewer as realistically as possible into the courtyard of the castle. In addition to this, the work captures both the road and the courtyard leading to the castle, the defensive walls on the right and on the left that support the entire fortification along with the defense system and the winding road up to its traversal, but also the highlighting of the other structures of the old castle that can be observed in the distance, all within the composition. The predominant colors best observed in the work are red, yellow, orange and brown that highlight the representation of the construction.
