Narrative, fantastic, and folkloric, the work of the artist Georgeta Năpăruș discloses itself as a world woven from awakenings and metaphors, where the richly coloured palette is spread in a festive, solemn manner. She completes her art education within the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Institute of Imitative Arts, having Corina Lecca, Titina Călugăru, Adina Paula Moscu and Rudolf Schweitzer-Cumpăna as mentors. Two years later, in 1959, she debuts as part of "Youth Exhibition, in honour of the 7th World Festival of Youth and Students from Vienna. Imitative arts, folk art, applied arts", from the Museum of Art of the Popular Republic of Romania, in which she participates with two works ("Portrait of a Working Youth", "Portrait of a Girl"). An impressive exponential activity follows, as she is present in the most important artistic manifestations in the Capital, in country-wide exhibitions, as well as in exhibitions held abroad (Budapest, Novi Sad, Zagreb, Belgrade, Prague, Tel-Aviv, Moscow, Cagnes sur Mer, São Paolo, Turin et al.). Having elaborated a personal manner of creating, alluding to an oneiric space of surrealist persuasion, together with a Narrativism reconciled with composition, Georgeta Năpăruș gives rise to a work of rare epic essence. Along with the epic essence, an important role in her creation is the imaginary, which represents nothing but another facet of reality, fulfilling, at the same time, the role of leading the real to the extent of its most intimate longing, thus being converted into a poetic expression, into an ideal art.
