The German origin cartographer Herman Moll (?-1732) published in London in 1715, where he settled, asserted himself and was recognized, the first edition of his famous work "Description of the World", which knew several editions. The present piece is part of the second edition that appeared in 1721 and includes a splendid description of Hungary and Transylvania. Copper engraving manually colored after printing.
