Alexandru Ranga has defined his visual identity over the past few years through prodigious zoomorphic representations, outlined in metal. Both the bee and the rat are part of a broader concept that the artist continually develops, the two becoming symbols of societal dichotomies, as well as personal dilemmas related to the prevalence of one over the other, despite their diametrically opposed nature. Bees refer to organized structures and the strict adherence to the rules imposed by them, living in a system where the concept of production or division of labor exists. Although generally perceived as an exemplary being, the bee is a model of creature that operates within well-established parameters to satisfy the collective good, an aspect that has been questioned over time from a philosophical perspective. Thus, we discover that Alexandru Ranga seeks to extract and immortalize in his sculpture defining moments of the bee's micro-universe, as a metaphor for the perceptions of contemporary man from the position of macrocosm.
