Published in 1962, the magazine presents the second appearance of the X-Men heroes, alongside Professor X, in their fight against Vanisher. We are in the period known as the "Silver Age" for comics, marked by the counterculture of the late '60s, the hippie movement, John F. Kennedy's frontier theory, movements of female emancipation through fashion, the appearance of a vast literature with the spy theme. The hippie movement influenced comics in that it led the narrative thread of superheroes to be more realistic, adapted to political realities and social changes. The appearance of the X-Men is such an illustration of social reality, the main characters being isolated from the rest of society, but fighting for its well-being.
