Research information
The work was most probably part of Gheorghe Petrașcu's personal exhibition at the Romanian Athenaeum during 3 March and 1 April 1913, included in the 120 works exhibited then. Still life works caught the eye of the critics of the time: "Here and there, behind the originality of the black colour and a range of stains of red, still lives remind of the austerity of the mystical Cézanne...".
