oil on canvas, 50 x 65 cm, 50 × 65 cm, signed and dated bottom right, with red, "Șt. Popescu, 1912"

His creation contains a plethora of landscapes, as the artist manages to capture the beauty of nature within his canvases. The multitude of works he executes within this genre help him develop a perfect technique for this theme. He is not an advocate for aggressive contrasts, and instead he wagers on subtlety, chromatic harmony, dissipated light and a linear rhythm. Unlike universal Impressionists who depict their emotions, Ștefan Popescu renders silence and balance in his works, hence managing to capture the unitary relationship between shape and colour.
