In the creation of Constantin Piliuță, the landscape appears mostly as a space for memory. The artist renders the external environment in accordance with his own imaginary. In a way that is both evocative and meditative, he reminisces and locks in a fixed time frame the image of his motherland. He adopts some of the characteristics of French expressionists, focusing rather on a unitary whole and less on stylistic details. His studies, accomplished under the guidance of Maestro Ciucurencu, prepare him for his activity as a colourist. In Piliuță's creation, one can find an obvious enlightened crescendo, notably in the last stage of his work. He uses a narrow chromatic range, consisting mainly of shades of grey and blue. His white is intense, explosive, and the dark tones are almost non-existent. Between the real and the aesthetic, the artist would always choose the aesthetic. His composition is highly simplified, sometimes up till the point of suggestion, pointing rather on the emotion he conveys.
