Trupko Vasilev was born on March 14, 1876 in the village of Lichishta, today's Greece, in the family of prominent agricultural merchants. He received his artistic education when he graduated from the painting school in Sofia in 1906 in the class of professors Petko Klisurov and Ivan Angelov. Trpko Vasilev's name is mostly associated with the first private art gallery in Sofia, of which he is the founder. The gallery opened its doors for the first time on November 28, 1910 at 16 Aksakov Street. Through a combination of intuition, enthusiasm and business acumen, Vassilev managed to help shape the careers of a number of seminal artists, thereby winning his own place in the evolution of the nascent classical Bulgarian painting. Thus, he became one of the main figures at the heart of the lively art scene in our country. For Trupko Vasilev, working together with famous and gifted artists is not just a business, but a joint journey, as well as a shared passion. For him, art is an emotion and an endless search for meaning. And as long as there are artists willing to pour their souls onto the canvas, he'll be there ready to share their stories with the world. "Landscape in Green" from 1956, filled with oil on cardboard, presents a carpet of lush grasses gently curling across the picture plane, while dense forests whisper the secrets of ancient trees. Each stroke breathes life into the scene, as if the artist's hand is guided by the whisper of the wind and the rustle of the leaves. Layers of paint build depth, inviting the viewer to head into the heart of the landscape. The trees stand proudly upright, their branches reaching toward the sky in silent reverence.Looking at the green landscape one can feel the peace of nature's embrace and find spiritual renewal through its eternal beauty.
