The theologian Nicolae Grosu (1867-1944) was a professor at the Theological Academy in Kiev until the installation of the Soviet regime. An active priest and diligent author of theological studies, he took refuge in Romania in early 1944, following multiple arrests and persecutions from the Bolshevik regime. The cross constitutes a beautiful religious piece, with memorial value.
