The Socec Publishing House in Bucharest published in 1903 a luxurious, extensive album dedicated to King Carol I, which included large-scale chromolithographic reproductions of portraits of commanding officers and characteristic scenes of each weapon within the Romanian army. The album opens with a portrait of the king realized in the form of a colored lithograph. Tadeusz Ajdukiewicz (1852-1916), a Polish painter specialized in military scenes, was invited to Romania by King Carol I to paint the portraits of royal family members. The artist stayed in the country for a longer period due to the commissions he received from several members of the Romanian protipendada. The cover of the copy is damaged.
