Princess Nadejda Bibescu Știrbei (1876-1955) was born in Loschwitz, Saxony, second daughter of Countess Marie-Henriette-Valentine de Riquet de Caraman-Chimay and Prince George G. Bibescu (1834-1902) - who was the son of ruler Gheorghe Bibescu (1842-1848). Her brother was George-Valentin Bibescu. In 1895 she married her second cousin, Prince Barbu Alexandru Știrbei (1872-1946), in Geneva. Nadejda Bibescu Știrbei was fluent in German, French (which she used for correspondence with her mother and husband) and English. She was a friend of Princess Marie and loved poetry, painting, photography.
