Rubin Patiţia (1841-1918) was a fighter for Romanians' freedom and their national unity. He was part of the delegation of the Memorandists who went to Vienna to present to Emperor Franz Joseph the claims of the Romanians in Transylvania. In the trial of the Memorandists, in 1894, he was part of the group of Romanian leaders charged and sentenced to imprisonment. He was a member of the Central Committee of the Romanian National Party.
