The book was printed by the printers Horace Boissat and Georges Remeus, whose mark can be found on the engraving on the title sheet. The engravings inserted in the text were executed by Conrad Lawers, after drawings made by Paulus Feldmayr. The text provides exceptional historical information about Transylvania. The author of the book was the Transylvanian jurist and historian Laurentius Toppeltinus (1641-1670), born in Medias, with studies at the Academic College of Alba Iulia, continued at the Universities of Altdorf and Padova. The work contains important information about the Romanians in Transylvania, including about the Cyrillic alphabet used by them or engravings with folk costume. A first attempt to translate the text into Romanian was made by Miron Costin, just five years after the appearance of the book. The book was reprinted in Vienna in the year 1762. Black print, on a column, with 22 lines on a page. The binding of the volume, of modern invoice, is made of cardboard covered in marble paper, the corners of the covers and the spine are made of leather. On the spine, between the ribs, are gilded line ornaments framing two labels with the name of the author, the title of the book and the year of its publication. The conservation status of the binding is good, signs of wear are visible.
