Carol Davila (1828-1884) presented, in his capacity as head of the Healthcare Service of the Romanian Army, an ample document containing instructions on the mandatory healthcare measures for recruits. The document was sent to the head physician of the Prahova military district, Zaharia Petrescu, 1st class regiment physician, on 25 March 1874. The pages are written in black ink, front and back, and they bear Davila’s handwritten signature in blue ink, as well as the stamp of the 2nd Territorial Division, the Intendency Service.
