The map was published by Carol Göbl-Rasidescu publishing house and bookshop in Bucharest one year after the outbreak of the first World War, when Romania had declared itself neutral. The piece was one of propaganda for the country to enter the war on the side of the Entente and it includes the territory of Romania at that time, as well as the provinces inhabited by Romanians claimed as parts of the Romanian national project. The map was made based on public subscription of funds and is lined on canvas.
