The views of Paris parks and squares were among Iser's favourite subjects during his stay in the French capital. Among his choices, we find, especially in gouache, the Buttes Chaumont or Bois de Boulogne parks, where he captured nature's rhythm in small pictorial notations, and sometimes sought the human agitation in Place de la Contrescarpe or in the Mouffetard Square and depicted his direct impression before the subject, noted fast and with a fine sense of observation.
