Genko Genkov is a symbol of creative freedom and the assertion of one's own plastic vision. In the early paintings of the late 1950s and early 1960s, his painting is delicate and tonally moderate. The direction he chooses in the following decades is towards an ever-increasing intensity of color in simplified compositional natural landscapes painted from nature. According to its plot, stylistic features and a peculiar manner of applying of the painter's brush, the painting "Pink Sky" refers to Genko Genkov's late work from the second half of the 1980s, and more specifically to his works with a prominent expressive character. In support of this are the following features of the painting: a plot involving a natural landscape. A colorful range built on the principle of the contrast between warm pink-red and cold blue-violet tones. Dynamically laid fracture with varying degrees of layering (pasty layering in places and removal or scraping in others). With its simplistic, semi-abstract imagery and non-specific tonality, Pink Sky is an interesting and rare landscape with high collectible value. Genko Genkov was born in 1923 in the village of Choba, Plovdiv region. He graduated from the "Painting" specialty at the Art Academy in Sofia under prof. Boy Uzunov. He works mainly in the landscape genre. He regularly participates in general art exhibitions and presentations of Bulgarian art abroad. . Genko Genkov presents 8 solo exhibitions - in the salons of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, in the Sofia City Art Gallery and ART 36. His last solo exhibition was in 2006. in SGHHG. In the same year, the artist died in Sofia. (S.N.)
