Modern artist of the 20th-21st centuries, Horia Damian has carried out a rich artistic activity, skillfully expressed in various forms, from canvas painting to sculpture, installations, stained glass, and more. He officially debuted as an artist in 1942, when he held his first solo exhibition at the Romanian Athenaeum. Another significant exhibition was at the Official Salon, where he received the "Print for Engraving" award, as well as participation in the Venice Biennale of the same year. In 1945, after winning the "Anastasiu Simu Award," he went to Paris, where he studied between 1946 and 1949 in the studios of André Lhote (1885–1962) and Fernand Léger (1881–1955). Four years later, in 1952, the artist made his debut in France, exhibiting at Galerie Arnaud alongside André Enard, Ellsworth Kelly, Nicolas Ionesco, and Charles Maussion.
